At the 2022 Sonoma County Fair, our 2019 Pinot Noir from Hallberg Vineyard received a Double Gold Medal. Ryan has been working with Vineyard Manager, Kirk Lokka, in sourcing from Hallberg Vineyard since DRNK started in 2012. Hallberg Vineyard is located atop the Eastern border of the Goldridge benchlands and just 75 feet off the valley floor of the Green Valley sub-appellation. These light sandy loam soils are able to reflect sunshine under the canopy after the cool morning fog burns off, allowing the fruit to develop great color and flavor. The 2019 Pinot has primary aromas of baking spice, nutmeg, and caramel. It opens up to red fruits of black cherry, strawberry, and raspberry with a mineral graphite on the back end. It has great mid-pallet volume with a fresh juicy core and slightly grippy tannins. Only four barrels made so grab yours today here.
